[Biography]

She was born and raised in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and after graduating from Munakata High School, she entered Kyoto Women's University's Department of Japanese Literature. After graduating, she worked as a company employee, and has been involved in a wide range of activities, including her family business sake brewery, lectures on returning to rice and local production for local consumption, food columnist, cruise coordinator, radio personality, and part-time lecturer at Fukuoka University. From 2011, she served two terms as a member of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, and in May 2018, she became the mayor of Munakata City. She will become the first female mayor in Fukuoka Prefecture.
